Day 31

I had a lazy morning getting up slow as I didn’t have anything planned for the day, because my Thursday class at the University won’t start until the 13th.

I got to the office at around noon. I spent a good hour or so playing around on the piano there. For lunch I made another salad and then suddenly my phone started working.

I started watching "Früstück bei Tiffany" before I went to the Rathaus. I got there around 6:30 and Stephen and Andy got there around 7:00 which gave me time to run to the bank to get some cash. Admission plus skate rentals rang up to €13 with a €2 deposit that we would get back once we gave back our admission card.

We put on our skates and headed out onto the rink directly in front of the Rathaus. I hadn't been skating since I was probably 7 years old (10 at the most) so it was pretty slow going at first. However, after a while of arm flailing, I somewhat got the hang of it. The big rink was connected to a second by a set of circular trails that went throughout the park in front of the Rathaus. It took some getting used to, but by the end of the night I was actually feeling somewhat confidant.

Halfway through our time there, they staff closed one of the rinks so that the Zamboni could smooth out the ice again. During this time Andy, Stephen, and I got crepes from the stand next to the rink. Mine was with cinnamon and sugar!

Once the rink opened up again, we headed back out. I headed into the trails with Andy while Stephen was going around the rink. We found out that the other rink had closed so we headed back to the first rink. After a while, we walked out and sat down. Stephen and Andy got punch which packed a punch and I tried a little of theirs. We decided that since my things were still at the office (and since it closes at 9:00 every night) we'd better make our way back. We headed back to the skate rental place and I got my student ID (which I had put down as collateral) back. We turned in our admission cards for the deposit, got our €2 back and headed back towards the office.

When we got there I grabbed my things and we all headed back to Haus Bürgenland where I dropped off my things. We then headed to Haus Salzburg with Anneke and Janaya. From there we walked to Bar Salzburg, the same bar that we had been searching for the previous weekend and had not found. When we got there we went to the non-smoking section and sat down. Stephen, Andy, and I ordered Hirtel Morchels. We chatted for about 45 minutes in German and then decided that it was time to head back to our dorms. Anneke, Janaya, and I were ahead of Stephen and Andy. When we passed Haus Salzburg (where Stephen lives) Andy had to run to catch up with us. We got back to Haus Bürgenland in record time. I headed straight to my room. My feet were sore so I fell asleep very quickly!
