I woke up late this morning recovering from my long day yesterday. When I did get up, I took a shower, got dressed, and met Andy in the lobby. Together we walked to Pilgramgasse where we met Paithan and then went to the Naschmarkt.
Paithan was on a mission to look for a new watch and both he and Andy were looking for cheap sunglasses. By the time we walked to the far end of the market, Andy and Paithan had gotten their sunglasses and we found a little restaurant where we stopped for a light lunch and drinks. It had been windy, but then it really started picking up and raining. We finished up, paid our bills, and headed for the train station. I split off to look at some fresh vegetables then made my way home.
I came back to find that Christoph had already left for the weekend. Since I was cold and wet from my walk back, I decided to take a shower. Afterwards I took time to actually fold all of my clothes and put them away. Just as I was getting done I got a Facebook message from Kels asking if I was able to Skype. Naturally, I said yes. We ended up skyping for two and a half hours, which (as Kels told me) we haven't done since my freshman year at Wabash when she was still a senior in high school.
I got ready in my opera attire and headed to the train station. I took the U6 and the U3 to the Rathaus (the city hall) and walked from there to the Burgtheatre. Tonight they had a special event where stories of six surviving members of the Haulocaust were read. Then at the end, the survivors read one last, short excerpt. It was a truly amazing experience. A haunting experience, but one that I wouldn't trade.
I took the train back home and when I got there decided to keep working in my journal entries. I logged on Facebook and got a chance to catch up with Rob Shook, a fellow fraternity brother. It was a real treat. :) As I worked, I listened to the movie About Time play in the background. It's currently my favorite movie and it's so full of everything potentially perfect about love. Like the thunderstorm earlier today it was another perfect piece of my day slipping into place. Alright. Everything is caught up and good to go. Good night everyone!
